Get a Straight Smile with ClearCorrect in Corpus Christi

Pair of contact lenses Whether you’ve never worn braces before or did wear braces but now notice that some of your teeth have shifted, there’s absolutely no reason not to wear braces as an adult. However, as an adult you may not want to have metal brackets and wires attached to your front teeth. No problem. Dr. Pitarra offers ClearCorrect in Corpus Christi. This system will give you a straight and beautiful smile and hardly anyone will notice that you’re in braces!

What is ClearCorrect?

Unlike traditional braces, ClearCorrect uses a sequential series of clear plastic aligners to apply pressure to your teeth in order to move each one into alignment. But like those metal brackets and wires, ClearCorrect braces can be used to correct a number of malocclusions including crooked or overcrowded teeth, crossbites, overbites and underbites. As your dentist in Corpus Christi that also provides orthodontic treatment, Dr. Pitarra will be able to determine if you are a good candidate for adult orthodontics based not only on your occlusion, but also you dental and oral health history.

What’s Involved in Getting ClearCorrect?

Once you and Dr. Pitarra agree that ClearCorrect is right for you, we’ll take a set of x-rays as well photos and impressions of your teeth. These are all sent to the ClearCorrect lab that will create your customized aligners. Dr. Pitarra will dispense them to you at periodic progress checks.

What’s your job? Easy—wear your ClearCorrect aligners every day for at least 22 hours a day. When you do, you can anticipate completing your orthodontic treatment right on time. And while the length of treatment depends on your individual orthodontic needs, most patients reach the goal of a perfectly straight smile in a year or two.

What Else is Different about ClearCorrect?

Aside from the fact that ClearCorrect are practically invisible, they’re also removable. (Try making that claim if you have metal brackets and wires cemented to your teeth!) This means that you’ll be able to eat all the foods you enjoy without any restrictions. Wearing traditional braces means you’d need to watch what you put in your mouth; chewy candy, hard pretzels, bubble gum and raw veggies might dislodge a bracket or break a wire.

Similarly, with your ClearCorrect braces safely stored in their custom cases, you’ll be able to brush and floss your teeth as usual. Oral hygiene tends to be more of a chore with standard orthodontics. But you’ll be able to brush and floss easily, thereby avoiding any greater risk of decay or gum disease while you wear braces.

When your treatment ends, Dr. Pitarra will give you’re a retainer to maintain the new alignment of your teeth.
